lighting, thunder, wind and rain ..oh my

Being it's a stormy morning night and being the thundering and lightening it's going to be a long night.

Arizona as a whole has had so far has a lot of rain.  That's awesome because water is much needed in the desert.  However this year is a record high.  But I haven't heard thunder so loud and continual since I was a kid in NYC.  The lightening show is awesome and it's so amazing.

Growing up with such loud thunder which was scarey enough my mama would add in mention God is very angry and that it was his yelling.   But as I grew older I heard a friend that the Angels were all playing bowling and the noise was the bowling ball coming in contact with the large pins.   I think I'll be thinking on my friends reason best of all.   Well that's all folks for to nite that is.....I am a bit frighten too.  Nite Zzzz I hope? . I like thunder and lightning! It’s exciting! Well, it’s not so hot when it wakes you up in the middle of the night.

True Betty, I like the lighting show, then count to 10 and thunder follows, but at 3:am, well, that’s a bit spooky. I survived it, but it was around 4amish that it finally settled down, and I settled in. LOL

It’s no fun to wake up to a noisy storm!

so true, being waken up at 3am with the sound as if boulders were going to split my home in two was not anything I enjoyed. I lived in Northern Calif, for 30 plus years, and I must say, earthquakes are scarier. I was there in the 1989, 7 months with TJ in my tummy, earthquake of which the recent Napa one reported was just small in comparison. I am grateful I no longer reside anywhere near Calif for sure…LOL….

I live in Western Oregon and we have had a warmer than average, dry summer. We don’t often get thunder and lightning like eastern Oregon experiences, but a few weeks ago we had a doozy of a storm! Lightning caused a tree down the road to catch on fire and explode and there were also some vegetation fires close by as well! An amazing, powerful storm!

Oh my Debbie, sounds like your storms headed out this way or visa versa? I’m in Prescott
Valley which is 2 hours from Phoenix, AZ. It’s Monsoon weather which starts late July, thru Mid August, high winds and rains; but for some reason this year it’s extended itself with heavy rains including lightening and thunder. Elevation is higher, than Phoenix and at least in town the drainage was well thought out and planned, unlike Phoenix. however, there’s still many homes up yonder towards Flagstaff, snow country in the winter, about two hours away, which are just bitty towns, and dirt roads and those areas were hit hard, and even some areas had horrible floods. I’ve never been out to Oregon, or Colorado; “welcome mat” should you and your hubby ever want to visit these parts Debbie. I finally got my shut eye after 4ish, 3am storms are not necessarily my favorite if it includes loud thunder. C

Weather wise, all over it seems is just not on a normal scale any more. I talked with my sis who’s out in Long Island NY, and Winters have been severe, more so when I grew up and resided there, including the summers, as she told me muggier and rainy. I’m not accustomed to thunder storms at 3am, it was after 4am when I finally got settled back down. When I wrote this post I was on my cell phone, cause the lightening and thunder including rain, and I didn’t want to even plug into my lap top. The sunsets and Clouds have been amazing, and I’ve got to post them soon, as soon as I transfer them from cell to my lap top… I do love the rain and lightening best too and glad for the rain especially in these parts, Prescott, AZ. You have a welcome mat, should you ever care to visit the wild wide West. Deb. C

Many years ago we drove through an Arizona thunder storm. It was about midnight when we hit it & for the next 2 to 3 hours I didn’t need the lights on my car because of all the lightning. We had a brand new roof carrier bought for the trip & on our next stop we found that it had been destroyed. That was the worst thunder storm that I’ve ever been in.

Oh My, that was the worst thunder storm, and thankful you all weren’t injured. I’ve been on a plane in which had to turn back to JFK airport in flight to Calif, where I had lived, because it had been lightening struck so much, the pilot felt it be best to head back. We were about 20 minutes up. Getting off the plane, we could see where one of the lightening struck and dented the side which we learned it was one of several. Eeerie….for sure. I was glad the Pilot felt it was best to turn around and head back to JFK. It was a long wait to be reboard onto a new plane, but it was worth the wait, and I had no complaints. Glad you shared your comment. I’m not a favorite of lightening unless I’m in my home, ya know?

Thank God I don’t have to fly anymore. I was never a great flyer (usually had a few before I got on a plane) & being in a plane hit by lightning would have spooked me a LOT!

I can completely understand, since 911 I am not too comfortable about flying as well, but I have two older siblings which I miss, and so every couple of years I fly back. I pray a lot prior, during and until landing. Wish it was shorter than a five hour flight.

I’ve always been afraid to fly. Heck I also don’t like being at the top of a ladder or on a roof. My other 2 fears are sharks, I grew up close to the coast & saw a lot of them & snakes, I’ve had lots of close calls with them. The snakes & sharks fears are from my youth. Heights fear I’ve always had. Picking up air plane pieces after they have gone down didn’t help.

Nature effects the mood of a person. I must say my mood is mostly dependent on the nature. I love the weather season and I love the rain, http://www.ukessayservicesreviews.com/essayontime-com-review/ say that this weather have positive effects on the mood of person and it is psychologically proved that one’s mind is tackled with the atmosphere.
